International Development and Management of Global Affairs Timișoara

The Masters in International Development and Management of Global Affairs answers to an increasing demand for expertise in the field of international development and for connecting local experiences in development with regional and global evolutions. It seeks to contribute to improving the knowledge and strengthening the capacity of the organizations involved in (international) development projects. Given that international cooperation for development is an especially complex and sensitive dimension of global politics, this masters seeks to equip students with the adequate academic expertise and professional skills for participating in various development initiatives.

In a multi-disciplinary context, international development studies examine social, political and economic transformations involved in development and key issues connected to globalization, inequality, poverty, gender relations, environmental degradation and other dimensions constitutive of development. Description of the exam test (s)

Probe admission: Interview
  • The admission test consists of an interview which takes place at all master’s degree programs within the Faculty of Political Sciences, Philosophy and Communication Sciences. The interview is marked with accepted/rejected. The interview is thematic and aims to verify the minimum knowledge of the candidate in the field of study for which he is applying, according to Annex 4 to this regulation.
  • The interview will be held online, and the candidates’ schedule will be announced the day before the admission test, through the e-mail address.
  • The interview for admission to master’s degree programs conducted in an internationally spoken language will be conducted in the study language of the study program – International development and management of global affairs (in English) and Philosophical counseling and consultancy (in English). Knowledge of the study language of the master’s degree program is mandatory. If candidates hold a certificate of knowledge of the English language, minimum level B2, a copy of it will be uploaded to the online admission platform. 
 

List of required documents

Documents required to register for the admission process:
  • Identity card (or passport or other identity document, for candidates who do not have Romanian citizenship);
  • Birth certificate;
  • Marriage certificate – if appropriate;
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma and diploma supplementor certificate of graduation from undergraduate studies and transcript, for candidates graduating from undergraduate studies in the current year; UVT graduates of the undergraduate studies of the current year do not have to upload the certificate of graduation of the undergraduate studies and the transcript on the admission platform in order to register for master’s studies in the same year, the results of the final exam of undergraduate university studies being taken into the candidate’s file directly by the admission committees of the UVT faculties
  • Medical certificate issued by the family doctor, not older than 90 days from the date of its submission to the document collection office, stating whether the candidate is fit to enroll in university studies and, if applicable, the chronic conditions of the candidate (neuropsychiatric , of psycho-pathological nature, pulmonary, dermato-venereal, handicap (type, degree) etc.). Specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, etc.) or any special educational requirements will be attested by a diagnostic certificate;
  • Certificate attesting to the completion of another master’s degree program (completed or not at the time of submitting the file), mentioning the funding regime in which it was completed (if it is carried out at a state higher education institution in Romania) – if appropriate.
Candidates who are Romanian citizens or from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation, as well as British citizens and members of their families, as beneficiaries of Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community 2019/C 384 I/01, who completed their undergraduate studies outside of Romania, must present, in addition to the above documents, the equivalency/recognition document issued by National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED). In the case of the recognition documents issued online by the specialized departments within the Ministry of Education, they are uploaded in electronic format on the admission platform by the candidate, within the term established for registration by the own regulation regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process at the level of each faculties, and does not require certification according to the original by UVT operators. The necessary documents and the procedure for equating studies conducted outside Romania are mentioned in Annex 1 of this regulation.
Candidates will have to present all the necessary documents for the admission process, in accordance with the provisions of the regulation on the organization and conduct of the admission process at the faculty level, in original or in certified copy, until the date established according to the calendar established by the regulation of the faculty regarding the organization and development of the admission process, at the points of taking over the admission documents from the UVT headquarters or from the county admission centers organized by UVT, for their scanning and certification according to the original by the UVT operators. Candidates who do not comply with this provision will not be included in the ranking of the admission process.
